On a job site, time is the variable that matters more than any other. Every hour spent on a preparation phase can be an hour taken away from the next job. And yet wood preparation remains a phase that cannot be skipped — the right question is not "can I avoid it", but "can I make it faster without losing quality".

The role of the primer in wood preparation

An impregnating-filling primer has a precise function: to even out the absorbency of the wood, fill the micro-pores of the surface and create a base that accepts subsequent finishing products better and more evenly. Without this phase, the final finish risks being absorbed irregularly, with uneven aesthetic results and a shorter lifespan.

Turapori Nitro (62.630) is designed exactly for this, with an important practical advantage for those working on site: rapid drying and easy sanding, which allow much faster work cycles compared with a traditional primer. It is also compatible with all the finishing products in the wood range, including polyurethanes.

How to use it in practice

The product is applied diluted 50% with Nitro thinner. Drying is fast — one hour dust-free, six hours through — which means that, in many site conditions, it is possible to apply the primer in the morning and proceed with light sanding and finishing on the same working day. Recoating is possible after a minimum of six hours.

    The correct steps

    • Check that the wood is clean and free of machining dust.
    • Apply Turapori Nitro diluted 50% with Nitro thinner, evenly.
    • Leave to dry for at least one hour until dust-free.
    • Carry out a light sanding for adhesion.
    • Proceed with the chosen finishing product, observing the minimum recoating time of six hours.

Why it pays to explain this to clients

    In summary

Wood preparation can be made much faster with the right product. Turapori Nitro (62.630) combines rapid drying and easy sanding, allowing work cycles that adapt to the real pace of the job site, without compromising the quality of the final result.
